As the Kitchen Porter at The Lygon Arms, it’s your role to provide the environment and tools to enable your colleagues to serve our guests, provide a seamless hospitality experience and ensure that every guest wants to return.
We are looking for someone who has a great eye for detail and very high standards when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness. Our successful applicant will enjoy working as part of a team and who seeks out ways to help colleagues out, ensuring that they have everything that they need. A enjoyment of the pace and buzz of service and working in a busy kitchen is also important for us.
Kitchen Porter - Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a clean and safe working and food preparation environment, conducting cleaning schedules before, during and after service.
- Adhere to all standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness as per our procedures
- Store all daily food deliveries correctly and safely

Rich in history and charm, our luxury Coaching Inn is also an international-standard hotel with an enviable reputation for the finest cuisine and the best of 20th-century comforts. In 2017, The Lygon Arms showcased an extensive multi-phase renovation, including public areas, restaurants, and a spa & leisure club. This multi-million-pound renovation maintained the deeply rooted history of the hotel while also enhancing the property for the modern-day traveler. But we think it is our employees that make us so special.
This role is 160 hours per 4 week period covering 5 days out of 7 reporting into the Head Chef.
