Grill

A Grand Setting for Timeless Celebrations

A stunning backdrop for any special event or occasion, the ‘Grill’ restaurant is an impressive great hall that whispers history from its vaulted ceiling decorated with antler chandeliers, to the windows overlooking this enchanting village, and the Cromwell Room where Oliver Cromwell once addressed his men before battle in 1651. Book exclusive use of The Lygon Arms to make this magnificent dining room your own for your takeover event.

Opened in 1910 and built to complement the Tudor exterior, the Grill boasts an oak floor, barrel vaulted ceiling and plaster bands crafted by the Birmingham Guilds. Its fireplace was rescued from the Tudor house near Abbey Church at Winchcombe with a Sussex fireback bearing the arms of Hyde, Earl of Rochester. A 17th century minstrels gallery graces in the eastern end, while the south wall panelling was designed to display the shields of distinguished figures including the Earl of Gainsburgh, Earl de la Warr, the Duke of Portland, HRH the Prince of Wales, Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, the Bishop of Worcester, and Sir James Stirling. The iconic contemporary space, reimagined by Anita Rosato Interior Design, beautifully embodies the hotel’s 600-year heritage with traditional British opulence and comfort.
